Kink arrays and solitary structures in an optically biased phase transition.

چکیده
An interphase boundary may be immobilized due to nonlinear diffractional interactions in a feedback optical device. This effect reminds of the Turing mechanism, with the optical field playing the role of a diffusive inhibitor. Two examples of pattern formation are considered in detail: arrays of kinks in 1d, and solitary spots in 2d. In both cases, a large number of equilibrium solutions is possible due to the oscillatory character of diffractional interaction. Typeset using REVTEX

Electret Model for the Collective Behaviour of Biological Systems
Electret Model, Biological System It is suggested that several basic properties of biological systems, such as muscular motions, active transport of energy, etc., may be described in terms of a dynamical model possessing metastable ferroelectric states. The model is based on the observation that configurationally unstable anions, in particular O 2 , can lead to ferroelectric phase transitions. ...
متن کاملmicrostrip arrays using simple integratedferrite phase shifters
A phase-steered microstrip antenna array is presented, suitable for application as a mobile vehicle satellite terminal. Phase shifters are implemented on a hybrid dielectric-ferrite substrate, and use is made of the phase transition near the cut-off region of the biased ferrite. Small permanent magnets and carefully biased ferrites remove the need for large applied electromagnetic fields. 2-, 3...
متن کاملNovel Element For Bnadwidth Improvement Of The Reflectarray Antenna
In this paper novel reflectarray antenna elements are proposed using aperture-coupled dielectric resonator antenna structures. Using these new structures, wide phase range and wide frequency bandwidth (up to 28.5%) with parallel and linear phase curves are obtained. In each case, an array consisting of 289 elements was simulated using the finite integration technique (FIT). The arrays exhibit 3...
متن کاملSoliton-like Solutions of the Complex Non-linear Klein-Gordon Systems in 1 + 1 Dimensions
In this paper, we present soliton-like solutions of the non-linear complex Klein-Gordon systems in 1+1 dimensions. We will use polar representation to introduce three different soliton-like solutions including, complex kinks (anti-kinks), radiative profiles, and localized wave-packets. Complex kinks (anti-kinks) are topological objects with zero electrical charges. Radiative profiles are object...
متن کاملSolitary Structures Sustained by Marangoni Flow
We construct interfacial solitary structures (spots) generated by a bistable chemical reaction or a non-equilibrium phase transition in a surfactant film. The structures are stabilized by Marangoni flow that prevents the spread of a state with a higher surface tension when it is dynamically favorable. In a system without surfactant mass conservation, a unique radius of a solitary spot exists wi...
